February 3, 2019 Sermon

we go through seasons where the Heavens are brass. It feels like our prayers go up and bounce off and are not received. But, in scripture, it talks about the opening of the Heavens as revival. Revival is about God being more in the lives of people, not more meetings.

All of us have roles, jobs, and relationships that need to be filled. There are three things that can radically change us to encourage an Open Heaven. It's not about following steps or a formula, but about principles.

In Isaiah, it says that God "would rend the heavens and come down". Isaiah is praying, crying out and petitioning God by tearing open the doors of Heaven and his desire for revival and breakthrough. It's an opening of Heaven through obedience. When we're seeking The Lord, He meets us right where we're at. We need to pray and put ourselves in the position of spiritual reception. But, how many times have we missed appointments to put ourselves in positions to meet with God? These missed appointments lead to disappointments.

Peter was one who wasn't just in the right place in the right time. He created the position necessary to hear and experience The Lord. He prayed from housetops so that he could be closer to God. Peter desired a co-union with God, or communion.

Jesus and fully God and fully man. But, being fully man, Jesus understood the importance of communion. Prayer is the key. Have you ever misplaced your keys? Shouldn't we put them in a place that we can find them at all times, whenever we need them? Of course, but we still forget them and lose them. We need to have prayer right in front of us at all times so that we can find it when we need it. Moreover, we need to set a time to pray each day so that we can connect with Jesus and get to know Him more and more. Every Great Move of God was the result of prayer.

Sometimes we will find it very difficult to obey, but we need to step out of our comfort zone and follow Him. Sometimes it doesn't even make sense, but if you do the difficult thing, The Lord will do the miraculous thing.

We also need to have sacrificial giving and living. When we give sacrificially, it pleases the Heart of God. Cornelius was sacrificial and God honored him. When we tithe, or ten percent, the Lord will open up the storehouse. But, the more we give, the more we will receive. You cannot out give God. We are not blessed to be horders. We are blessed to give back. If you will be obedient in this, you can expect to be blessed!

How passionate are you for an Open Heaven? As you walk in faith, expect the unexpected.
